Our annual summer picnic was a great success.
Two US Senate Candidates spoke to us about their vision for Iowa and the United States - Dave Muhlbauer and Gleen Hurst.
IDP Chair Ross Wilburn updated us on IDP activities across the State.
And our own Tripp Narup gave a rousing speech on why he loves living in Iowa, being part of the Iowa Caucus and being a Democrat.

MoCo Dems Fundraiser Info
The Democratic Party is and has always been the people’s party – a party working for everyone -- a party (as the constitution says) “working to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity”. In order to do these things in Iowa right now, though, I believe we need to increase the number of Democratic Party members here.
There is an organized group in Montgomery County working to that end. They are the Montgomery County Democrats. Some of the things that “MoCo” Democrats are doing to make things better in southwest Iowa include:
1. Having regular monthly planning meetings and monthly First Friday Socials
2. Increasing local Democratic Party visibility at community functions
3. Helping encourage and support local candidates at all levels of government
4. Registering new Democratic Party members.
5. Helping and serving at local community service events
We want to do more. But --- it takes money and the support, encouragement, and actions of more and more people. We are asking for your help to continue to grow this effort and the Democratic party in Montgomery County. Please complete this form below, detach and return with your Annual Giving Plan.
Thank-you in advance for your contribution to helping make Iowa and especially southwest Iowa a great place for all to live and work!

Iowa Democrats Demand Governor Reynolds Listen to Parents & Public Health Professionals
DES MOINES - This morning Iowa Democratic Leaders including Chair Ross Wilburn, Senate Democratic Leader Zach Wahls and House Democratic Leader Jennifer Konfrst are demanding Governor Reynolds listen to parents and public health officials and take three steps before children head back to the classroom:
Accept $95 million in federal funding to increase testing in schools
Return to daily reporting of COVID positive cases and hospitalizations
Allow every school to follow the latest CDC guidelines, including masks and contact tracing
